‘It was not his best knight’- White house dismiss withdrawal speculation, reaffirms Biden is staying for presidential race

Karine Jean-Pierre, White House Press Secretary, in a resolute statement denied rumors that President Joe Biden is considering withdrawing from the 2024 presidential race, stating ‘absolutely not’ on Wednesday.

Despite mounting  pressure from ex-staffers, allies, and  Democrats to step aside, the White House reaffirmed that Biden will continue to seek for a second term.

Jean-Pierre practically denied the response from New York Times reports that Biden had secretly discussed the possibility of dropping out. In here words  “absolutely not, you heard, and I think, I believe directly from the campaign as well.”

Pierre claimed that Biden’s subpar debate performance was as a result of  him being under the weather, quoting that he had a cold. She restated the President’s own explanation from the previous night, where he blamed his sluggishness on jet lag following his return from the G-7 summit in Europe.

According to her it was not the president’s best night, he understands that it is fair for people to ask that question, but we cannot forget his record and what he’s capable of. We cannot forget how he has been able to deliver for the American people for almost four years, he has the most historic record, the most in modern politics, and that should matter, she said.

President Joe Biden himself affirmed: “I am running. I am the leader of the Democratic Party. No one is pushing me out.”

Jean-Pierre stated that Biden “wants to continue to do that work.”

He had a cold. He was jetlagged. It was not his best night,  You heard directly from the president about this,  and when we get knocked out, when he gets knocked down, he gets right back up. “That’s what I would focus on. The president continues to be very steady and continuing to work for the American people,” she added.
