The chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Ola Olukoyede,has ordered for the arrest of two Commission officers seen in a viral video abusing a female staff member at the Regional Hotel in Ojo, Lagos.
In the video circulating online, the EFCC officials, dressed up in plain clothes, were seen forcibly entering a hotel room and slapping the woman believed to be a hotel employee who attempted to open the door from inside.
The incident was recorded on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV).
According to an EFCC spokesperson, the incident occurred during an early morning sting operation. He stated that the operation resulted in the arrest of several suspects who are currently being profiled.
“The EFCC’s boss has also ordered detailed investigations of the operation carried out at the hotel and assured that appropriate disciplinary measures would be taken against any of the officers found to be culpable.”
