Evading an arrest is a criminal offence – Daniel Bwala tells Yahaya Bello

The former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has come under fire from Daniel Bwala, the spokeswoman for the Atiku/Okowa Presidential Campaign Organisation in the 2023 election, for dodging the commission’s (EFCC) arrest.

Remember that on April 17, EFCC agents besieged Bello’s Abuja home in an attempt to take him into custody for an alleged N80 billion fraud.

While the EFCC agents were at Bello’s home, Kogi Governor Usman Ododo paid his predecessor a visit.

Bello left his home in the Wuse Zone 4 District of Abuja, and it is said that Ododo came to his aid.

The former governor was then proclaimed sought by the anti-graft agency after the EFCC agents also departed the residence.

Bello has also been added to a watchlist by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), and Olukayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police, has removed the police details that were linked to the former governor.

The Kogi government’s N80.2 billion was purportedly embezzled by Bello, Alli Bello, the chief of staff to Ododo, and a man named Daudu Suleiman, according to the anti-graft agency.

Speaking on Monday, Bwala stated that Bello’s refusal to be arrested by the anti-graft agency was a crime during an interview on Channels Television’s morning programme The Morning Brief.

The attorney requested that the former governor of Kogi surrender himself and come straight to the EFCC offices.
