An online video has surfaced featuring suspected armed bandits interacting with a foreigner in an open field.
The apparent leader of the gang, sporting dreadlocks and carrying a rifle, can be seen joking around with the white man.
One of the bandits can be heard saying “Hasbunallahu wa ni’mal Wakeel’,” which translates to “Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.”
The white man playfully encourages the gang leader to hold him tightly, while another member of the gang remarks that they have a “white man in the flesh.”
The group also denies rumors of the dreadlocked leader being killed, with a counter-insurgency expert identifying the location as Gusau – Sokoto road.
