Atiku: Chicago university document showing i was female not my fault – Tinubu

Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has asked a federal judge in the US to disregard data that appear to show the student admitted to Chicago State University in the 1970s was a female.

It was reported that Tinubu’s attorney in the case, Christopher Carmichael, intervened in the debate on the president of Nigeria’s behalf.

It has been proven without a shadow of a doubt that it is wrong to sandbag an opponent by bringing up a fresh issue in rebuttal, Tinubu stated.

Recall that on September 11, Tinubu claimed that his Nigerian political rival Atiku Abubakar was attempting to sandbag him in the continuing litigation over academic documents in a petition before Judge Jeffrey Gilbert of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

In light of the strong indications that a decision in the case was about to be made, Justice Gilbert had suggested that all parties appear before the court on Tuesday afternoon prior to today’s hearing.

Lawyers for Tinubu claim that the controversy regarding Tinubu’s identification that was caused by the Southwest College record was a conspiracy theory and not his fault.

“The quoted and referenced portion of the Nigerian court filing parrots conspiracy theories about President Tinubu, including that the degree from Chicago State University really belongs to a female named Bola Tinubu,” Tinubu’s attorneys claimed. That theory of a conspiracy is not a claimed ground for discovery.

Atiku’s legal team, led by Angela Liu, reportedly issued a response to Tinubu’s lawyers’ argument as soon as possible, according to Peoples Gazette.

The arguments Tinubu’s solicitors made ought to be disregarded, and the hearing ought to be permitted to go on as planned.

“Although Abubakar disputes the claims made by Tinubu in his motion for leave and accompanying sur-response, Abubakar consents to Tinubu’s submission of the sur-response and its accompanying exhibit, Dkt. 27-1, on the understanding that the court will permit his counsel to dispute the claims and arguments made therein at the hearing before the court scheduled for tomorrow (September 12, 2023), according to the attorneys.

In light of the issues surrounding Tinubu’s admittance and graduation, Atiku is requesting that the US court issue sufficient subpoenas to compel records and depositions from CSU.

The school has kept presenting contradicting records, which frequently raise more issues than they do answers.

For instance, the public has access to at least two certificates the school issued in Tinubu’s name. One was delivered to Tinubu personally, while the other was given to a Nigerian attorney who had last year received a subpoena for the information. While Mike Enahoro-Ebah, a Nigerian attorney, received one that read June 27, 1979, the one delivered to Tinubu read June 22, 1979, having been admitted in 1977.

However, additional admissions data provided by CSU in response to the 2022 subpoena revealed that a specific Bola Tinubu, who was also admitted to CSU in 1977, provided a Southwest College result that belonged to a female.

In addition, Elnora Daniel, the CSU president who allegedly signed Tinubu’s 2022 certificate, didn’t begin attending the institution until 1998, which is 19 years after Tinubu was claimed to have graduated. She left the school in 2008 as a result of a financial mismanagement controversy, or 14 years prior to when she allegedly signed the certificate as the current president of the institution.
