In order to efficiently verify results, the National Examinations Council (NECO) has launched the NECO e-Verify online result verification facility.
This new website, NECO e-Verify, provides an immediate way to check the accuracy of applicants’ basic and academic information before granting them admission or employment in academic institutions.
NECO Registrar Prof. Dantani Wushishi made the announcement about the NECO e-Verify’s launch in Abuja.
He explained that the e-Verify platform was developed in response to the growing demand from institutions in Nigeria and abroad for result confirmation and verification.
Prior to this breakthrough, Wushishi noted, all requests for result confirmation and verification were sent through the Council’s headquarters in Minna, which slowed down the procedure.
He stressed that the e-Verify platform will considerably quicken the verification process, and by guaranteeing the veracity of academic credentials, institutions and employers will have more faith in the selection process.
In the present world, where result forgery has grown more common, the e-Verify platform is essential since it offers advantages including increased confidence, risk reduction, and increased efficiency.
Wushishi stated, “It is important to verify students’ and employees’ credentials to ensure that the institutions/establishments successfully meet their goals, especially in today’s technological world where result forgery is easiest.”
He continued, “Admitting/hiring unqualified personnel can result in a number of dangers, including poor academic performance, decreased production, low morale, and when fraudulent behaviours might impede the institution’s success.
Result verification helps to reduce these risks by ensuring that only qualified candidates are admitted and hired.
“Institutions and businesses will operate more efficiently if the results of candidates are properly verified since they will be able to hire the top candidates who can learn more quickly and workers who can perform their jobs without or with little supervision. This also elevates universities and other educational institutions because applicants with dubious records would not dare to submit an application.
