Just-In: Atiku’s prominent ally, Idirissu Amin dies in Abuja

Idirissu Amin, a supporter of former vice president Atiku Abubakar and a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council, has passed away.

 

Family reports claim that the deceased died following a protracted illness.

Amin served as the Maiha Local Government Council’s most recent chairman in the state of Adamawa.

 

The feisty politician who backed Atiku became well-liked in Adamawa for his entertaining persona.

In a statement of condolence, the governor of Adamawa State’s chief press secretary, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, hailed the late Amin as a fearless political activist who gave incalculable service to the country.

 

“I offer my deep condolences to the family as we mourn the passing of a fearless political activist who was a leader in his own right.

 

“Our sadness is compounded by this loss at a time the State needs the services of Hon Idi Amin; I pray Allah grant the family the fortitude to bear the loss and forgive his sins and grant him Aljannah Firdausi.”

 

Therefore, he expressed his condolences to the residents of Adamawa and Maiha Local Government Area and prayed to Allah Ta’ala for the deceased’s eternal rest in Aljannah.
