Pregnant Woman In Labour Scaled With Hot Water By Her Sister-in-law In Adamawa

Adamawa State police  have arrested a pregnant woman, Jamila Ishiaku, for allegedly pouring hot water on her pregnant sister-in-law while she was in labour.

The shocking incident occurred on Monday, January 27, at their residence in Dubeli, Yola North Local Government Area, following a heated argument.

 

20-year-old Jamila, speaking on her actions, admitted to the attack, asserting that she acted out of anger during the disagreement.

 

Confirming the arrest, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Suleiman Nguroje, assured that the suspect would be prosecuted in accordance with the law. He urged residents to report crimes rather than resort to violence.

 

“If you see something, say something, and the police will always do something,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, the victim has since given birth to a baby girl, who is reported to be safe and healthy.

 

Her husband, Gambo Dahiru, expressed his distress over the incident, stating that his wife remains in severe pain.

 

“I have been crying for days now. My wife is in pain and has been crying uncontrollably. I am seeking justice for her. The law should take its rightful course,” he said.
