British band Coldplay’s extended ‘Music of the Spheres Tour’ has made history by becoming the first rock music tour to surpass $1 billion in gross revenue.

The tour surpassed Sir Elton John’s five-year farewell tour to become the highest-grossing rock tour in music history.

The tour is also the first music tour to officially report a worldwide gross of over $1 billion, according to Billboard.

Recall that American singer, Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour became the first music tour to surpass $1 billion in revenue last year.

However, Coldplay’s ‘Music of the Spheres Tour’ is the first to officially report a worldwide gross of over $1 billion.

Nigerian singers Ayra Starr and Burna Boy were guests at the Italy and Dublin stops of the tour, respectively.
