A Nigerian youth in sokoto state, A. O. Yusuf. has been apprehended by the Department of State Services (DSS) over planned nationwide protest.
Sowore, confirmed Yusuf’s arrest in a post on X platform on Thursday citing he was arrested over the planned nationwide #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest.
The human rights activist and convener of #RevolutionNow, Omoyele Sowore, demanded the immediate release of the Sokoto youth. According to the activist “There is a news alert that another active citizen from Sokoto @DEGEO7 was abducted by lawless @OfficialDSSNG! #FreeYusuf NOW.”
The DSS operatives had also arrested Aliyu Sanusi, in Sokoto for allegedly printing and distributing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest materials. He was later released.
The DSS had also arrested and released Bashir Abubakar, in Kano, the Kano State capital over support for the planned nationwide protest against economic hardship in the country.
Though Sanusi and Abubakar have been released, the lawless secret police have been clamping down on Nigerian youths supporting the nationwide protest scheduled for August 1-10.
