Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a muslim cleric has called on Nigerians to embark on a peaceful protest against President Bola Tinubu’s administration to voice out their grievances and the economic hardship.
This comes after an activist politician, Omoyele Sowore called for a revolutionary protest in August over the hardship the country is facing.
Gumi in a video clip said that Politicians are very stubborn and it is only mass protests that disturb them. He recalled how ex- president Muhammadu Buhari protested against the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, he asked Nigerians to protest peacefully and the government must understand and respond positively to the language of protest.”
According to Gumi, in Sudan and Liberia, conflicts were like family feuds which are very dangerous, but Nigeria is different, with diverse ethnicities, religions, cultures, tribes, and sects.
