Arraignment postponed as ex minister collapses in courtroom

The arraignment of former minister of power was dramatically stalled as the minister under the administration of Muhammadu Buhari collapsed outside the courtroom of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

 

Source reports Mamman felt ill before the arraignment started. Femi Ate, SAN, the former minister’s counsel had told Justice omotosho right before Mamman was called to plea.

 

Just as the hearing was about to resume, Mamman walked into the courtroom with his clothe drenched, Justice Omotosho then asked why Mamman was sweating or could it be the rain? Mamman responding to the judge from the dock said they poured him water.

 

While addressing the court, Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, SAN,informed the court about a new development on Mamman’s arraignment.“I was informed of an incident outside. I will want my learned senior advocate to tell the honourable court himself,” the judge said.

 

According to Ate, Mamman collapsed while bringing into the court premises, and had to be resuscitated and treated by the medical personnel of the Federal High Court, his client was served with the charge after he was resuscitated, he was served this morning,” he said.

 

The former minister explained to the court that he collapsed due to the medicine he took without eating,The senior lawyer expressed concern and sought for the understanding of Olumide-Fusika for an adjournment so that the arraignment could be done on Monday when his client would have been okay.

 

However the arraignment had been adjourned to September due to workload in the court dockets
