How armed men killed DJ during hotel raid in Abuja

Tragedy struck in the early hours of Saturday as a gang of armed robbers attacked a hotel in the Gwarinpa area of the Federal Capital Territory, leaving a disc jockey dead and several guests traumatized.

The DJ, identified as Bashir Dauda, was shot during the incident and later pronounced dead at the Federal Medical Centre in Jabi, Abuja.

 

According to eyewitnesses, the robbers stormed the Volcano Hotel at around 3:35 am, robbing guests of their valuables and personal belongings. A resident of the area, who witnessed the incident, said the attack had caused panic in the area, with incidents of armed robbery becoming increasingly rampant in Gwarinpa.

 

The FCT Police Command confirmed the incident, stating that they received a distress call at around 5:07 am and immediately deployed operatives to the scene. The police found the DJ on the floor and rushed him to the hospital, where he was confirmed dead.

 

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and are working to apprehend the culprits. The FCT Police Command is urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the police immediately.

 

The attack has left residents of Gwarinpa in a state of fear, with many taking to social media to express their concerns about the rising incidence of armed robbery in the area.

 

The police have assured residents that they are doing everything possible to ensure their safety and security.
