Mele Kyari, the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), has been summoned by the House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions to respond to claims made by an indigenous oil services supplier, which amounts to $72 million.
After unsuccessful attempts to recover the funds, the oil business De Coon Limited filed a petition with the House Representatives Committee.
The CEO of NNPC, Obiageli Okeke, the CEO of Onado Nigeria Limited, and important personnel from Nigeria Agip Oil Company were invited by the Committee, according to a summons letter seen by Daily Post on Thursday in Abuja and dated Monday.
Important representatives of the Federal Ministry of Petroleum, such as the Minister and the Permanent Secretary, have also been called to testify.
Among those called were the Group CEO of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Content Development and Monitoring Board, the Managing Director of Total E&P Nigeria, and NNPCL Staff, including Mr. Momodu Mohammed (Team Lead GRC), NAPIMS, Mr. Kanayo Odour, Mr. Salisu Bakaro, Mr. Lanre Richard, and Engr Mohammed Ismailia.
According to the summons, you must “note sections 88 and 89(c) of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended) and appear in person before this committee on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm, or as soon thereafter as the committee shall direct.”
