Former Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic) of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) Prof. Pius Iribhogbe, passed away in Saudi Arabia.
Iribhogbe, a consultant trauma surgeon, the head of the surgery department, and the coordinator of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital’s (UBTH) paramedic school, passed away on Saturday night.
Dr. Benedicta Ehanire, a UNIBEN spokeswoman, confirmed Iribhogbe’s passing over the phone with The Nation, but she also stated that the organisation had not yet released a press release regarding the event.
