Dana Air reacts to its aircraft overshot runway

After overshooting the runway during Tuesday’s landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport’s local wing, Dana Airline responded.

 

An aircraft registration number SN BKI, which was operating a flight from Abuja to Lagos today, had an excursion on the runway, which the airline regretted to notify the public in a statement.

 

With the utmost professionalism, the crew managed the issue, and we are relieved to announce that all 83 passengers and staff members on board the flight evacuated safely and without incident.

 

Dana Air informed the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and the Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) about the event as well.

 

It further stated that the aircraft in question had been grounded for additional investigation by its maintenance staff.

 

“We would like to express our deepest apologies and gratitude to the passengers on the impacted flight for their patience and understanding, as well as our gratitude to the airport authorities and our crew for their very quick response in ensuring the safe disembarkation of all passengers following the event.

 

“We want our customers to know that their safety is our first priority, and we are working closely with the appropriate authorities to look into the incident’s circumstances,” a statement from Dana Air said.
