Elon Musk has announced intentions to implement a fee for posting on X platform.
Musk, the platform’s owner, believes that charging new users is the most effective way to address the issue of bots on the platform.
He stated that new users will have to pay a fee for posting, but will be granted free posting privileges after three months.
Musk explained that this fee is necessary to combat the increasing number of bots and fake accounts on the platform.
The platform introduced a $1 per year charge for new users in New Zealand and the Philippines on October 17, 2023, in order to provide access to essential features for users in those countries.
