How fire outbreak in Nasarawa burnt 9 persons to death

In 2023, fire breakouts in Nasarawa State are said to have claimed the lives of at least nine people.

In an interview with Daily Trust on Thursday, Nasarawa State Chief Fire Officer Mr. Ombugu Joshua revealed that the agency had prevented the loss of N1,002,092,000.00m worth of property and had saved a total of N45,986,090,000.00 worth of property in the year under review. He said the agency had saved no fewer than eighteen lives.

 

In his speech, he asserted that 80 percent of fire outbreaks were caused by carelessness and negligence.

 

As a result, he counselled the locals to always turn off all of their appliances, claiming that this would significantly lower the number of fire accidents.
